New Zealand gas fireplace designer and manufacturer, Escea [available from Glen Dimplex], recently introduced a large slimline model into their range. Escea used the integral design principles of their AF700 model; then increased the size, the heat output and the heat efficiency to create a more powerful gas fireplace – the AF960[$6299], with an additional 300mm in width. With an impressive 7kW heat output and 4 Energy Star rating, this fireplace effortlessly heats an open-plan living space while being kind on your gas bill.
The AF960 Gas Fire uses a closed combustion system meaning it will heat the room-space and not the flue. The direct-vent-flue in combination with the glass front creates a closed combustion system. It uses only outside air for combustion and carries the exhaust air away without exchange with the room air. The large glass area creates a focal point for flame display; while inside the firebox sides are angled to maximise the flame view as much as possible to create depth and a full flame effect. Due to the simplistic framing and slimline design, the AF960 seamlessly integrates into a range of décor settings.
There is a range of stylistic options to choose for the AF960. Fascia colours include Volcanic Black, Titanium Silver and Stainless Steel. You can complete the look with a Log, Black Coal or NZ River Rocks fuel bed. The AF960 is also Smart-Heat enabled allowing you to control your fireplace from anywhere, anytime via the Escea smartphone app.
