Solahart became a Tesla Energy Authorised Resellerfrom February 2016. The Solahart offer allowsTesla Powerwall batteries to be retrofitted to existing photovoltaic systems; or sold as part of an integrated solution when paired with a new PV system. Solahart has manufactured over one million solar hot water systems, which have been installed in 80 countries. In 2010 it made the move into PV, with Solahart systems now installed on thousands of Australian roofs.

CSR Bradfordwill also supply and install the Tesla Powerwall battery throughout Australia and New Zealand from early-2016 as part of a fully integrated and automated system, including PV panels and inverter. Battery solutions provided by USA innovator Tesla Energy enable home-owners achieve savings on electricity bills as well as an increased capability to use renewable energy sources.

The Tesla Powerwall home battery unit is fully automated and simple to install, with no maintenance required. At 1.3m x 0.86m and a depth of only 18cm it features a sleek and stylish design to make it architecturally appealing. Powerwall can be installed indoors or outdoors; and is controlled via a web and mobile app interfaced with the specialised inverter.

The Daily 7kWh Powerwall will cover most of an Australian family’s power requirements during the evening using energy stored from solar panels during the day. The Tesla Powerwall can provide an emergency backup in the case of a grid outage; while multiple batteries can be scaled together to meet higher energy requirements if needed. Widely anticipated as the future of sustainable living, home battery storage is considered a tipping point in making solar energy practical and affordable. Families can have a 4kWh solar PV system with inverter and battery installed by CSR Bradford for less than $15,000.

In addition to optimising energy use generated by the sun, the Tesla Powerwall will give families the option to store electricity from the grid when electricity rates are low, to be consumed during peak periods of usage, such as evenings, when rates are higher. This gives home-renovators the ability to optimise their renewable energy consumption while saving on power-bills.
