Big River Group’s MaxiWall is a cost-competitive Autoclaved Aerated Concrete [AAC] product. Designed primarily for the multi-residential and detached dwelling market, an entire MaxiWall exterior can be completed in a fraction of the time compared to rendered brick or block. The applications for MaxiWall include Low-Rise External and Party Wall applications as well as Hi-Rise External and Internal Wall Systems. The use of MaxiWall panels leads to faster construction times and decreased site costs, as their light weight makes them safer to work with and easier to install, including cutting, shaving and shaping. Moreover, it offers an enhanced home living experience due to superior fire protection, insulation, and soundproofing qualities. With four times greater thermal resistance than standard house bricks, the amount of energy required to heat or cool is greatly reduced. MaxiWall also offers excellent acoustic insulation. It is fire-resistant; classified as a 100% non-combustible building material; and achieves a two hour fire rating when installed with approved systems.
This two-storey seaside family home was built from the ground up in just two weeks, thanks to MaxiWall, owned and distributed Australia-wide by Big River Group. The speed of the project proved to Rivergum Homes just how easy MaxiWall is to handle and quick to build with. The entire exterior was completed in a fraction of the time compared to rendered brick or block; and the speedy construction time not only lead to a very happy customer, but also decreased site costs. Installing one panel of MaxiWall is equivalent to installing about 75 bricks, which creates a huge saving for builders, homeowners and home renovators on site – labour costs are reduced and so too is material wastage on site. It can be installed on site using the same carpenters who install the wall frames and roof-frames.
The applications of MaxiWall include low-rise external and party wall applications; as well as high-rise external and internal wall systems. MaxiWall is soft enough to cut easily, but it’s reinforced and strong enough to be a long term durable skin on a building. In locations that experience cold winters and hot summers, MaxiWall provides a thermal barrier that helps save on the running costs of the house, given that it is an airtight product. The little air bubbles that form in the panels during manufacture act as insulators against temperature changes.
MaxiWall also has excellent soundproofing qualities, as either an external wall or as an internal wall thanks to the air bubbles. Its contemporary rendered finish offers a stylish and sustainable alternative to traditional brick and concrete, while still providing that solid feel of traditional bricks. MaxiWall can be finished in a multitude of different rendered finishes, ensuring any design choice can be accommodated.
