Australian walling system manufacturer AFS Systems recently announced that its rediwall® system now has CodeMark® Certification. With its logicwall® system already having CodeMark® Certification, both AFS systems now comply with the National Construction Code [NCC] and evidences their suitability for use in the design of a concrete structure. AFS Systems’ [a division of CSR Limited] rediwall® speedy-snap-in™ range is used for the construction of load-bearing walls. Applications include basements, party walls, columns, lift shafts, stair wells, retaining walls, retention tanks, service and stormwater pits, foundation and landscaping walls. Quick and easy to use, the rediwall® speedy-snap-in™ permanent PVC formwork system comes in a range of panel sizes including 110mm, 156mm and 200mm together with the introduction of a clever ezy-fit™ corner panel. These lightweight PVC panels simply snap together by hand and are then ready to be core-filled; you don’t need a formed deck for installation; and it can be done with minimum training. The speedy-snap-in system includes a clever 90-degree ezy-fit™ corner panel. The cover section is removable, which allows access for the installation of reinforcement bars. Reinforcement placement in conventional PVC systems is often difficult but this innovation eliminates the problem. Certifying engineers can simply remove the cap to inspect and approve the reinforcement placement prior to concrete pouring. The end result is a more efficient, versatile and low-maintenance permanent formwork solution for load bearing walls. Its UV- and water-proofed surface offers a gloss finish, which in many applications doesn’t require finishing. The tough and robust PVC panels are designed with large kidney-shaped holes for better concrete flow during core filling. The shape of the hole in the 200mm panel allows for double or single reinforced steel placement. It also allows single reinforced steel to be offset to one side to further optimise performance.
